Peter Haddow

You may be checking this site because you have an interest in the 1987 mass murders in Clifton Hill, Australia. The book Peter wrote on this subject took five years to write and research and anything that happened is in those pages. If it is not there, then it is because he could not find something or someone to corroborate what he'd been told. 'Hoddle Street' is a factual account, including the lead up and aftermath, of this dreadful incident.

On the other hand you may be interested in the three true crime stories that were published by BlackInc in their anthologies - 'On Murder' and 'On Murder 2'. 'The Murder of Jessica Lang' features in the first anthology (click here to read this true story) and'Jockey Smith's Last Stand' features in the second (click here to read this true story).  The third story is ‘Between the Lines’ and is published by The Five Mile Press in the true crime anthology ‘Outside the Law 2’ (2008). In 2009 Peter was published in ‘Outside the Law 3’ by The Five Mile Press. This contains a reprint of the story he has had most reaction to, ‘The Murder of Jessica Lang’.

Peter has been published in a wide range of magazines including:

  • The Little House (short story) - Going Down Swinging, vol 4
  • Murder at the Dakota (poem) - Brave New Word, vol 3
  • Nightmares on Hoddle Street (article) - Sunday Age, 8 Aug 1993
